On July 15, 2009, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) submitted a report to Congress on U.S. equipment industry access to Galileo markets and Europe’s compliance with the trade provisions in the GPS-Galileo Agreement of 2004. USTR prepared the in response to congressional direction.
The Office of Space Commercialization assisted USTR in preparing the report. The Office played a key role in negotiating the GPS-Galileo Agreement and serves as the U.S. co-chair of the transatlantic working group established to consider non-discrimination and other trade-related issues concerning GPS and Galileo (Working Group B).
In preparing the report, USTR solicited public comments on Galileo market access.
